Arthur Elgort is one of the world’s top fashion photographers and a lover of fashion, ballet and music. Born raised in New York City in 1940, Elgort got his start working as an assistant for fashion photographer Gus Peterson and began to develop his iconic “snapshot” style. Elgort's 1971 debut in British Vogue initiated his lifelong career in fashion photography, and his work has regularly appeared in Vogue for over 40 years.
Elgort has photographed supermodels such as Linda Evangelista, Kate Moss, Christy Turlington-Burns, Iman, Patti Hansen, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Coco Rocha. In addition to his tenure at Vogue, Arthur has worked with various influential international magazines including Rolling Stone, Glamour, Teen Vogue and GQ. His photographs are included in prestigious public and private collections such as the International Center for Photography in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
